Thomas Kennedy

Portarlington* native, Thomas Kennedy, showed a great interest in music from an early age, joining the local parish folk group when he was just twelve years old, a group which he would go on to lead for many years.

• The experience he gained as a cantor in his local church created in him a deep love of Christian Music. In 1997, Thomas enrolled in the Dublin Conservatory of Music, Opera and Drama. During these years, he performed extensively with the D.I.T. Chamber Choir. The award-winning choir had a diverse repertoire ranging from 16th century madrigals to contemporary music. They were winners of the Cork International Choral Festival Chamber Choir Competition in 1998 and 1999.

His deep love of liturgy and liturgical music, embedded in his soul, has led Thomas to travel and sing throughout Ireland, Europe, and US. In 2007, Thomas recorded some hymns for a ten part television series "Divine Wisdom" for EWTN.

• Thomas is very proud of his involvement with Terry O’Neill’s production of the “Rich in Mercy” CD.
