Celine Byrne is from Naas, County Kildare, Ireland.
Celine sung as soloist with many opera companies, including Lyric Opera, Opera Ireland, Anna Livia Opera, and Wexford Opera. In 2005 Celine received coaching at the National Opera Studio London, and has participated in master classes given by Malcolm Martineau, Denis O’Neill, Wolf Gang Holtzmair, Tina Ruta, and Roberta Alexandra. Celine has also appeared on many television and radio programmes, in Ireland and internationally.
Deeply rooted in a Christian background, Celine developed a passionate love for liturgical music at an early age and even now as a professional an highly credited Soprano. She sung for Bishop Desmond Tutu in Cape Town, South Africa, and was a major participant in the liturgical celebrations at the first "World Apostolic Congress on Mercy” (WACOM ) in Rome, in April 2008, commissioned and officially opened by Pope Benedict XVI.
Celine’s angelic voice captivated thousands of people participating at this historic event. On April 3rd , 2008 , at the Church of Santa Maria, Degli Angeli, the "Rich in Mercy” Project was first performed. Celine’s celestial interpretation of this New Presentation of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, touched the hearts of all who were present. She also sang at the International Mass, in The Basilica of St. John Lateran, where her spirited expression of “Ave Maria” and “Panis Angelicus” added a truly heavenly dimension to this most memorable occasion.
